She knows what will kill her but she won’t tell.

“Marlena invited me.”
Marlena looked back at Ed. “No, Ed. You invited me.”
Ed looked gloomy. “See what I mean. It’s fate. You’ll meet your end wherever your karma decides. You can’t change it. No one can. Not you. Not me. Not Marlena. And she even knows how she is going to die.”
“Oh, Ed.” Marlena looked back and laughed. “I have visions,” she confided to the others. “We were parking the car earlier when I heard voices telling us to find a safer place.” She smiled contentedly, as if all was now explained.
Ed continued. “There is no safe place. Cayce said all the coastlines would be under water, and half the country. It’s not water that will kill her, but something else.” Ed glanced at her. “She knows but she won’t tell.” …

RECENT REVIEWS OF FRENZY
“A terrifically fun read! Glenn Lazar Roberts squeezes a lot of horror, mystery and plain old fun into his new novel, Frenzy. Its pages are filled with a host of quirky characters with monikers such as “Wild Bill,” “Carm,” and “Cracker,” and the brisk dialogue and tight plot will keep the reader guessing until the final page. My suggestion? Grab a copy as fast as you can, turn down the lights and read this fast-paced novel. —Jerry Mohrlang, author of Sarawak, and Mujahidin.”
“This is a superb novella to pop in on and be thrilled with. Lots of twists and turns, lots of pop back-and-forth banter, and plenty of surprises. It’s written as a thriller with a subtle supernatural element mixed in. The author’s style makes it an easy read, with a quick paced flow. Several fully developed characters, each with their own unique story thread, lead to a well orchestrated avalanche of pandemonium. For those looking for entertainment, especially some thriller / horror, this is a good choice. Will help the day at the pool or trip on the plane fly right by. Definitely recommended.” —Troy F. Tinsman
“In Frenzy, Glenn Lazar Roberts takes the ideas of the physicist Stephen Wolfram on cellular automata and pushes them to the limit, weaving a tightly plotted thriller that is perfect for hard-core science fiction buffs.” —Sirius Reviews
“A plot worthy of the movies! Frenzy by Glenn Lazar Roberts is a perfect example of building tension… Just when you think you have it all figured out, the plot twists again and sends you giddily in a different direction.” —Michael Fox, author of Theater Boy
“Glenn Lazar Roberts’ fabulist thriller [has] skillfully woven topical issues—cancer research, technology, fraud—through a hair-raising plot. Frenzy is a super story. The reader turns pages eagerly right up to the astounding resolution. A must-read.” —Carolyn Thorman, author of Holy Orders.
“Hip entertainment for sci-fi buffs. Glenn Lazar Roberts’ Frenzy is a fast-paced sci-fi thriller. Using a witty and satiric style, Roberts introduces us to…science gone too far. An entertaining work of speculative fiction that provides a great deal of food for thought.” —John Dizon, author of Tiara.

Free copy of Frenzy
Now temporarily a coupon code is available to anyone who can send me a link showing that they have posted a review of ANY Equus or Dark Lotus book online. The review must be at least 3 sentences long but can be good, bad, or indifferent. As they say, any publicity is good publicity so long as they spell your name right.

Once I get the link, I will email you the coupon code which can be used to purchase a paper-back copy of Frenzy on this website. You still have to go thru the purchase process on this website and pay $2.00 for shipping within the continental US, but applying the coupon deducts $7.99 from the total cost.
This can be combined with purchase of other books and the flat rate of $2.00 still applies to the total. A condition of the discount is, if I like the review, I get to post it here on Equus Publishing. Obviously, this offer applies ONLY on this website, not to purchases of Frenzy on any other site, including Amazon or Ingram.
Warriors Video added
I just added a nice video of myself discussing my new book The Warriors – a parody of that great 1979 cult movie The Warriors. Look to the sidebar at your right and you will see the video. I also included a YT video of one of the many famous scenes in the movie. (yes, there is a direct parody of this scene inside my book!)

Background to Frenzy
When I wrote the sci-fi horror novel Frenzy 18 years ago, Houston’s tunnels had inundated due to Tropical Storm Allison. Here’s a picture of what happened to almost every pedestrian tunnel in Houston in 2001.

As a result of the devastation caused by Allison, Houston installed central command centers and gates much like submarine doors to compartmentalize Houston’s pedestrian tunnels, especially the tunnels under the medical center. Here are photos I took under the medical center during 2016.

Of course Hurricane Harvey hit in late 2017 causing over four times the damage as Allison. (I’m still feeling the effects of Harvey, literally). Here are some more photos of flooded Houston tunnels, though these may also be from Allison. Some of Houston’s tunnels flooded during Harvey, but the medical center activated their submarine doors and in 2017 was not flooded for the most part.

In my novel Frenzy, the unfortunate victims wade through just such a flood inside the tunnels when someone unleashes experimental piranhas assembled under scientific techniques described by the physicist Stephen Wolfram. I will soon be awarding a free copy of Frenzy to anyone who preorders a copy of my new novel The Warriors. Watch the landing page for details. -Glenn Lazar Roberts
ScaryDad Convention
This is a new convention in Houston still mostly unknown. I’ve been invited to host a literary panel. I’m not sure I will do that since I’m burned out from doing panels at Comicpalooza several years in a row, but I will certainly have a table at ScaryDad to sign my books. Look for me there. Authorsden authoring
I returned to Authorsden last night. They’re not cheap, but I decided to stay with them a bit longer, posting Quantum Marlowe info and making Chapter 1 available for download. I also made a couple of copies of QM available for review on that site, both physical and pdf. Authorsden is kind of a ghetto with writers selling more to each other than to the public. But then, isn’t that the dilemma of all writers today? With Youtube and video games, the literacy of the general public is dropping like a… I almost said stone, but I would never put in print such a tired cliche.
Blog fixed
It’s taken a week or so but I think I finally fixed the Blog issues. If this post shows up at the proper time and place on the new Blog page, then I’ve done it! My next issue is to return to the newsletter. I have not implemented Mailchimp, primarily due to their reputation for dumping their customers without warning and sabotaging their businesses. The installation I have is currently working, but I’m still looking for a reliable email client.
Progress
After a hectic summer I have finally got Equus Publishing off the ground. The Shop and Cart seem to be working right. Now I’m working on the Newsletter. Our writers’ Critique Group is more active than ever, with a wide variety of writers attending, from traditionally published and successful authors to newbies working on their first story.
Currently I’m still doing free editing for CG writers who request extensive treatment of several chapters–after all, we are just trying to help each other write. But soon I will be charging for extensive editing jobs.
